The discomfort of not knowing

Hi Reader,

I was recently part of a conversation on LinkedIn about relying too much on AI for ideas and answers.

The post was saying as we use AI more, we rely less on our own creativity to come up with unique solutions to problems, reducing our capacity for critical and creative thinking.

I 100% believe this to be true.

I’ve found myself in this trap, and I always question the results and reasoning behind why in the first place.

For local small businesses, I understand the value in being able to easily outsource some of the more rote tasks to save time.

However, I also understand the importance of being true to yourself and your brand. I don’t think AI should be a tool to outsource personality or your thinking.

Nor should Google, for that matter.

For me, I’ve had AI help me create email templates, 90-day plans, and content strategies.

But none of it ever felt right for my personal tastes.

What it can do is help you come up with more of your own unique thoughts and ideas, if you approach it differently.

How are you using AI in your business?

If you’re a local business in the Worcester, MA area, I’d love to learn about how you’re using AI to grow.

Reply to this email and let me know how it’s helped (or harmed) your business.

Until next time,

David
